House Shoes - Residential foundation protection system
| This is a residential foundation protection method which uses ready-mixed elastic polymer cement mortar as well as water-type elastic acrylic silicon paint and is highly weather-proof, low staining, and has excellent crack tracking properties. |

|
Conventional continuous foundation is finished by simply brushing.
House Shoes with its various patterns created by using a trowel and a roller and four-colour topcoats enables the application of a variety of finishes that match the outer wall.

Crack tracking properties
If a foundation becomes cracked, cracks will appear until the surface layer when conventional brush finish has been used.
House Shoes uses an elastic underfiller which fills in cracks and prevents cracks from spreading.

Suppression of neutralisation
The property of foundation concrete gradually changes from alkalinity to neutrality due to carbon dioxide in the air, acid rain.
Neutralised concrete deteriorates strength.
House Shoes is capable of suppressing neutralisation, which increases the durability of foundation concrete.
Evaluation method
- Create a hardened mortar test piece (4x4x16cm)
- Coating 4side surface by House Shoes Underfiller (1 mm thickness) and Topcoat (200g/m2) and cure at room temperature.
- Expose 6 months and cut into 2 pieces and coat the cross sections with phenolphthalein and measure nuturisation.

Efflorescence prevention and contamination resistance
Conventional brush finishing causes the following contamination problems by absorbing water from the ground:
- Colour change due to stain
- Efflorescence (white belt-like colour change)
- Dirt adhesion
Those smudges could not be removed by water washing.
House Shoes prevents the absorption of water from the ground, therefore eliminates contamination problems.
Since concrete is coated with silicon film, surface contamination can be easily removed by water washing.
- Dirt adhesion and cleaning
 |
Both House Shoes and brush finished mortar are coated with dirt, undisturbed for a week, then washed by a brush and water, and a comparison was made.
Dirt is easily removed from the wall painted by House Shoes, while dirt on the mortar remained in joints and is not completely removed.
|
Waterproof test (absorption prevention)
Various coating materials are applied to each corrugated plate on 1mm thickness.
(As for House Shoes, after dried, it is coated with 200 g/m2 of acrylic silicon paint)
After the test specimens were cured at room temperature for three days, the evaluation was made by the JIS A6916 permeability test.

Adhesion
A variety of coating materials each measuring 4x4 cm and about 1 mm thick were applied to each mortar test piece (7x7 cm).
(As for House Shoes, after it had been allowed to thoroughly dry, it was coated with 200 g/m2 of acrylic silicon paint)
After the test specimens were cured in standard conditions (20°C, 60%) for a week, the tensile adhesion strength was measured.
